“Pieces of you occupy every one of my thoughts. I cannot seem to evict you from my mind and, believe me, I’ve tried. You are not just someone I would let in my bed. You are the only one I have ever truly yearned for in my very long life.”

Julia Lovely
Welcome! I’m so glad you found your way to my website! I put my heart and soul into The Sapphire Sailor’s Tale. Literal pieces of me are scatter throughout the pages, and I’m so lucky to have the opportunity to share them with you.
I know most writers aspire to be authors for a long while before they publish their first book. That was not the case for me. However, I did spend my 20s and early 30s doing all sorts of other things that I’d love to share with you.
Mice and rats occupied my time in a neuroscience lab where I earned undergraduate degrees in neuroscience and psychology. One would think I would pursue a career in something similar, but I did not. I decided to join the United States Navy where I spent approximately 5 years as a Surface Warfare Officer. When I completed my time in the Navy, I earned my master’s degree in applied psychology, then worked for a large consulting firm as a human capital consultant.
When I gave birth to my daughter, everything changed drastically. I experienced postpartum depression and for about a year after my daughter was born struggled with my mental health. Reading fantasy romance novels was one of the things that made me feel human, whole, and capable again. When I developed the idea for The Sapphire Sailor’s Tale, I had recently decided to be a stay-at-home mom and I have not regretted the decision for even a second since.
I am sincerely honored you’ve taken the time to be here and I hope you find joy in reading my books.
“I refuse to be a wilted flower in the face of monsters.”
